XIX World Congress on Safety and Health at Work: Building a Culture of Prevention for a Healthy and Safe Future

The objective of the World Congress, organized every three years since 1955, is to create an opportunity for exchanging new information on occupational health and safety with the aim of introducing a culture of prevention worldwide. The World Congress in Turkey is a unique opportunity for all occupational safety and health professionals, employers and managers, trade union representatives, those responsible in public administration, insurance and social security, manufacturers and importers, as well as anyone with an interest in safety and health at work.

The World Congress provides a forum for the exchange of knowledge, practices and experiences between the participants with the aim of promoting safety and health at work; reinforces and builds networks and alliances while laying the groundwork for cooperation and strengthening relationships among all concerned; provides a platform for the development of knowledge, strategic and practical ideas that can be immediately put into use.

Main topics:
I. New challenges in a Changing World of Work and the Global Economy;
II.Social Dialogue, Partnerships and Innovation on Occupational Safety and Health;
III. Systems Approach for Occupational Safety and Health;
IV. Comprehensive, Proactive and Preventative Approaches to Safety and Health at Work.

The programme will consist of an opening, plenaries, technical sessions and symposia as well as a high-level closing session, to elaborate on the themes of the World Congress. Speakers' corners, poster sessions, a safety and health exhibition and the international Film and Multimedia Festival will round up the conference programme.
