01:21' PM - Tuesday, 19/09/2006 | | In support of the world day on occupational safety and health, Ministry of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) in collaboration with the International Labor Organization (ILO) office in Hanoi organized a meeting to celebrate the world day on occupational safety on 28 April 2004 in Quang Ninh province. Present at the meeting were leaders of MoLISA, Ministry of Health, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Quang Ninh department of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs, Quang Ninh department of Health, Quang Ninh Federation of Labor, Director of ILO Hanoi Office and more than 100 representatives of employers and employees in Quang Ninh province.
This event is organized in order to raise awareness and responsibilities of all levels and branches, of employers and employees about occupational safety and health. On behalf of MoLISA leaders, Ms. Doan Minh Hoa called upon enterprises to bring into full play their achievements, developing an action program, a system of practical solutions to ensure occupational safety and health for workers, prevent and minimize occupational accidents and diseases. Employers and employees, of all time, actively undertake the commitments to develop and maintain safety culture at the workplace for human beings and for the cause of sustainable development of enterprises. On this occasion, Ms. RoseMarie Greve, Director of ILO Hanoi Office, expressed her willingness to see Vietnam’s developments in the field of occupational safety and health. Representing more than 100 delegates from coalmining enterprises in Quang Ninh province, Mr. Duong Van Thin, Vice director of Hon Gai Coal company expressed the support and determination of enterprises in improving the working conditions, ensuring occupational safety and health to minimize occupational accidents and diseases.
Taking this opportunity, Department of Occupational Safety distributed hundreds of leaflets and OSH newsletters to propagate and inform employers and employees of the world day on safety and health at the workplace. At the venue of the meeting, many slogans and posters with contents in support of the world day on occupational safety and health… made the meeting become more meaningful. Source:
