Workshop on guidelines on OSH management System of ILO (ILO-OSH – MS 2001)

The workshop was conducted in Can Tho province on 11th Dec. 2003 in order to introduce ILO-OSH 2001 to west-southern provinces and pre-evaluate achievements of application of ILO-OSH 2001 in Can Tho province. During the workshop, participants visited 2 private companies, which have applied ILO- OSH 2001 and shared experience on ILO- OSH 2001 application. Initially, the application of ILO - OSH 2001 in the two companies have brought about encouraging achievements. Series of enterprises have paid more attention to ILO-OSH 2001 for possibility to apply ILO-OSH 2001 in their own enterprises.

Positive reforms in system of OSH laws and regulations and administrative structure have facilitated the application of ILO-OSH 2001 in enterprises. The biggest obstruction at present is the training OSH safety officers for enterprises. In order to deal with this difficulty, Vietnam needs to set up OSH training centers and standardize training modules and program for OSH officers and socialize OSH work.
