The Prime Minister’s Decision

The Prime Minister issued the Decision N064/2003/QD-TTg dated on 22nd Apr. 2003 on approving “The national plant to solve thoroughly nationwide establishments who cause serious pollution”. The targets in the coming time, from 2003 to 2007, are the concentration of addressing 439, defined as serious polluters, out of the total number of 4295 establishments. They include 284 enterprises and business, 52 rubbish dumps, 84 hospitals, 15 pesticide storages, 3 zones of conservation of toxic chemicals and 1 storage of bomb left by the war. The purpose aims at the addressing the most outstanding spots and urgent matters of environmental pollution in resident areas and seriously polluted regions. The objectives of the plant, until the year 2012, shall solve thoroughly 3856 remaining and newly emerging establishments; and continuously preventing pollution in order to control and constrain the increase of polluting establishments.
