Minister of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs on August 16th 2004 issued Decision No. 1176/2004/QD-BLDTBXH to establish the OSH training centre under the Department of Occupational Safety responsible for trainings on occupational safety and health and labor protection. According to this Decision, the OSH training centre is mainly in charge of OSH training and refreshment training for trainers; guidance, OSH trainings for employers and employees. These trainings focused on new knowledge of occupational safety and health such as methods of improving working conditions, affects of hazardous and dangerous elements, use of machineries, equipment with strict requirements of occupational safety and health by means of methodologies in combination with visual aids and introduction to OSH experiences in different countries. The training center includes three divisions: Division of Planning and Synthesis; Division of Occupational Safety Training and Division of Occupational Health Training.
On the first days of its operation, the training center sucessfully held five training courses for OSH officers, managers, employees and employers at enterprises and corporations. Currently, the center is in the process of accomplishing OSH documents and textbooks and strengthening the force of trainers and collaborators. In recent time, the center has also been provided with modern training devices by RWE Rhein Ruhr AG Company in Germany.
