On the establishment of the National Information Network on Occupational Safety and Health

05:07' PM - Tuesday, 02/01/2007

Representatives from agencies, organizations, and research and education institutions, which have registered to join the National Information Network on Occupational Safety and Health coordinated by MOLISA, MOH and VGFL, attend a Conference on 1st Dec 1997 in Hanoi. Attendants discuss information-related activities on occupational safety and health and orientations for coming years.

Over the years, given the tasks of disseminating occupational safety and health regulations and knowledge, popularizing scientific and technological advances, exchanging experience and collecting information related to organization, management and guidance work, occupational safety and health activities have contributed to labor protection and employees’ health and safety protection.

However, information activities in occupational safety and health failed to meet requirements; information products have not been well-produced and well-distributed; legal documents and practical knowledge in occupational safety and health, experiences in labor protection and working condition improvement to guarantee safety and protect health have not yet reached enterprises and employees; thus, positive impact has not yet been taken into full use.

Nowadays, in response to national industrialization and modernization demand, labor protection and occupational safety and health should be paid greater attention in order to enhance awareness and accountability of agencies, employers and employees. Favorable conditions should be given to operation and coordination among domestic and international organizations in occupational safety and health. To this end, attendants discuss organization and operation statute draft and operation mode in coming years of the National Network on Occupational Safety and Health proposed by the Network Establishment Coordination Committee. Attendants agree to declare the establishment of the National Information Network on Occupational Safety and Health, approve the Network Organizations and Operation Statute and call upon all agencies and organizations which have registered for the National Network to support information activities for safety and health of employees (Aggrement on organization and operation coordination among lead agencies in National Network on Occupational Safety and Health)./.
