International agencies on OSH

Welcome to the Website on Occupational Safety and Health!

10:07' AM - Thursday, 31/08/2006

In the context of international economic integration and globalisation, the issue of occupational safety and health is increasingly related to the success of every business and the sustainable economic development of all countries. Tariff barriers have gradually been demolished and new technical standards have been introduced, for example, corporate social responsibilities, occupational safety and health (OSH) management systems and environmental management. These require enterprises to better meet OSH standards as well as improve productivity and quality. Strategies to boost OSH have been given greater importance by countries throughout the world, especially this year with the adoption of the Convention (and Recommendation) on the Promotional Framework for OSH at the 95th Conference of the International Labour Organisation.

This is not only an opportunity but also a challenge for Vietnam, ranging from the development of safe production methods to improving safety and health in the region and in the world. To this end, there must be efforts by all enterprises, workers, state administration agencies and relevant organizations in the area, to disseminate OSH information to all stakeholders at the national and enterprise levels.

The Bureau for Safe Work, the state administration agency in the field, has developed an effective channel to disseminate the requisite up-to-date information on OSH, ranging from legal documents, policies and technical advice through the website on occupational safety and health. Hopefully, this website will update employers, workers and enterprises with useful information and be a forum for us to exchange experience in improving labour conditions and preventing occupational accidents and diseases.
